Due to their mischievous and curious nature, dogs have a tendency to get themselves into trouble. They often don’t consider the potential dangers and risks involved in their playful and adventurous activities. In fact, they can even end up with their heads stuck in pipes, just like this dog did. Recently, in Arbyrd, Missouri, located in the southern part of the United States, the Kennett Fire Department received an emergency call about a stray dog trapped in a pipe. The situation required urgent attention and action.
Upon arrival at the scene, the rescuers quickly realized the severity of the situation. Kait 8 reported that on May 20th, last Thursday morning, a helpless animal was discovered trapped in the Black Gold Potato Field area. It took a considerable amount of effort and advanced equipment to set it free. The firefighters worked tirelessly for five hours to extract the furry creature from the tube, which eventually had to be cut. Fire Chief Paul Spain explained that they were extremely cautious about where they made the cuts, how they were performing the task, and keeping the animal calm proved to be a challenging task. Spain went on to say, “We made every effort to minimize the stress caused to the animal. Sadly, it was exhausted, dehydrated, and very hungry.” Upon reaching Kennett Veterinary Clinic, the canine still had a piece of tubing stuck in its body; thus, the medical team administered anesthesia and removed the remaining metal object. “Every time we removed the pipe, he wagged his tail with excitement. He got more agitated, so the outcome was fantastic,” said Spain, adding that pets’ lives are as precious as human lives to many of us. “He will have a lovely home,” concluded the fireman.
