“Hope and Love for Special Dogs: Uplifting Tales from a Thai Shelter of Second Chances”

It’s no doubt heartwarming to hear stories of people rescuing animals from the streets, it gives hope that there are still kind-hearted people out there. Nevertheless, the approach that a Thai animal sanctuary takes towards caring for animals in need of special attention is truly admirable.

Amid the ongoing pandemic, countless animals are being abandoned, left without a home, or born into homelessness. However, in Thailand, this issue has a unique twist as the local culture doesn’t promote interacting with stray animals.

In Thailand, there’s a man who’s making a big difference in the lives of stray animals. Michael J. Baines, a Swedish chef living in the country, noticed that these creatures were often overlooked and decided to take action. He founded The Man That Rescues Dogs, an animal rescue group based in Chon Buri, where he serves as president. With his efforts, neglected animals are now finding shelter and care in a safe sanctuary.

Since he began working at his fantastic position, he has managed to save over 2,000 stray animals, including cats and dogs. Our animal shelter stands out due to our proficiency in rehabilitating hurt creatures and providing them with a fresh start.

Michael initially began by feeding the homeless animals wandering on the streets. But soon, he came to terms with the sheer volume of these neglected animals in dire need of compassionate care. Therefore, he decided to inaugurate a sanctuary to provide these animals with a safe haven. Presently, the sanctuary houses a staggering number of 600 animals which wasn’t an easy accomplishment. However, Michael and his team made it happen with great perseverance.

Chris Chidichimo and his dedicated team of 30 staff members are the backbone of an animal shelter, where they take care of various rescued animals. From cuddly dogs and cats to handling unexpected emergencies, they are a rescue organization that goes beyond the norm. Despite facing many challenges, Chris and his team remain committed to their mission, ensuring that each animal under their care gets the attention it deserves.

Dealing with unforeseen circumstances is the ultimate hurdle we encounter in our daily schedule. Our routine entails a gamut of tasks such as hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, cleaning, walking, and feeding for the animals. We try our best to be adaptable, but it’s a challenging task. At the animal shelter, our day begins early, at 6 a.m., when we take all our furry friends, even those using wheelchairs, for a walk. Once back, we serve them a scrumptious meal, and then give them time to do their business and clean up.

Moreover, Chris stated that a food truck departs at seven o’clock in the morning, catering to 350 homeless dogs in the area.

Our establishment offers hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions to our beloved pets who are experiencing problems with their mobility. These beneficial sessions are conducted at 10 o’clock in the morning, providing ample exercise for our dogs to maintain their health. In the afternoon, at 2 pm, we accompany them on another walk, nourish them with food, and provide them with a revitalizing bath to keep them fresh and clean.
