A Facebook user, Amandi Rodríguez Maya, shared in a group about a dog seemingly without an owner who appeared lonely outside a bakery that had permanently shut down. The poor pup used to receive scraps and treats from the bakery’s visitors, but now sits or lies down all day, hoping for a meal that will never come. Unfortunately, the “La Espiga” branch in downtown Tampico closed its doors in December 2022, leaving the faithful dog with no one to provide him with food or attention.

Jhonny is the name of the man that people often see sleeping outside the Care with the Dog store in the market. However, he mainly waits outside the “La Espiga” bakery because he knows they will always offer him a taco, no matter the weather. Rain or shine, the staff at the bakery always made sure he had something to eat. Even though the bakery has closed down, Jhonny still lingers outside in hopes of a meal. The publication suggests that the dog accompanying him appears to be feeling down as well.
