“Good News: Buddy, The Dog That Survived Being Set on Fire, Is Now Free of Bandages!”

Buddy the dog has endured unimaginable cruelty, but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. In April, he was found set on fire by a child in Mississippi and had to live covered in bandages to heal his painful burn wounds. Now, after being bandage-free, Buddy is continuing his recovery journey at the Mississippi State Veterinary Hospital. He can now play with toys and wander around the halls of the hospital since his eyes are no longer covered by bandages. The Tunicia Humane Society noted that his whole personality has changed now that he can see for the first time in months.

According to Tunic Humane Society’s Facebook post, Buddy’s days at Mississippi State are much different now. After undergoing surgery for burns on his face, his eyes are no longer covered with heavy bandages and he can see again. His whole personality has changed since seeing the light of day, and he’s happy and playful, walking around the hospital halls with a great big ball in his mouth. Although he’ll require future surgeries on his eyelids, for now, he’s just enjoying being a dog again. The vets are giving him time to rest and recover, but also making sure he has playtime and outdoor time. Buddy has been doing so well that the vets gave approval for his neuter surgery, which he successfully underwent. He’s now starting treatment for heartworms as he continues his recovery at Mississippi State.

The veterinary and humane society teams are cheering on Buddy, who has gained a huge following online. His most recent recovery update has received over 26,000 likes on Facebook and nearly 5,300 comments wishing him well. The Humane Society even created t-shirts with Buddy’s face to help show support for the dog.

The sweet pup deserves all the love and care after enduring so much. Despite his difficult journey, Buddy remains the sweetest and most loving dog. The Tunica Humane Society is thankful for all the support and love Buddy has received during his recovery. Although it will take some time before he is available for adoption, there are already many people interested in giving this sweet dog a forever home.

The Tunic Humane Society expressed their gratitude towards the thousands of individuals who had prayed for Buddy. They acknowledged that their prayers were being answered each day, and hoped that God would continue to bless the precious dog.
